Hiking in Boise National Forest

Happy 4th of July to the USA. 🇺🇸 A few weeks ago, we went hiking on the Crooked River trail in the Boise National Forest. My daughter and husband had already been there for a camping trip, but it was my first time. It was great and there was a steady amount of Trekkers of various ages, but we left our food in the car so we didn’t go to the end before deciding on time to eat lunch. The most challenging thing for me with my walks is to gauge how far to go while leaving enough energy to return to my origin. My mind and feet are more willing, but one must use common sense.  On this occasion, I didn’t want to hike until we got hungry cause that would be too far. We had to leave some return leeway. We opted NOT to carry food in so we had to return too early. You do NOT want to torture your fellow hikers with privation. It will not be a good investment in future hikes. Our food was waiting in the cooler in the car upon return and it was devoured. My sandwiches taste extra great when you add hunger in the mix. 😀
