We took a hike this weekend to Boise’s premiere hiking destination. (Or at least the only one I’ve officially ever heard of…) Table Rock We didn’t have a plan to go there and I wasn’t even aware of what the destination was supposed to look like. The trail is apparently more scenic than the destination from what I could see. We didn’t have too long since I had to be back for a meeting later that afternoon so we threw food and liquid in backpacks, put on our shoes, and headed out the door. Since our hike took place after church, we got going without lunch and I immediately was very weak and hot. We had to eat pretty early or I wasn’t going to be able to continue, let alone the children. We found a beautiful shady spot and had some Brie and bagels and that brought back the pep in our step and we continued. We didn’t make it to the “Table Rock” due to lack of time, but it was a nice hike on trails above Boise. We’ll plan more time and make it to the destination next time, but the nice wildflowers on the trail made it particularly awesome as they won’t last but a few days or weeks at most.
