Fresh falling snow is one of my favorite things. We don’t get much snow here in the PDX burbs, but since we live at about 600 feet above sea level, we tend to see it more than most and when it happens we can be sure to see more than a few wrecks. Well, the snow started to fall at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday when I was leaving the elementary where I volunteer with my child’s class and since they hadn’t announced when they’d let the kids out I set out for home with excitement to go right back on foot to pick them up. Upon arrival, I received an email from the schools to pick the kids up at 1:00. So, I waited around until I could put on my Sorel snow boots and walk to the school. YES! I headed down and picked up my 2. Walking in snow is one of my favorite things to do and since it doesn’t happen here very often, I was going to make the most of it for sure. The last big snow storm here was in December 2008 so my 7 year old hadn’t experienced much snow so we have had a blast with this storm when it snowed far more than expected. We were out early yesterday morning sledding, but then got exhausted. Today, we paced ourselves and spent the better part of the day outside in 2 increments. It has been a lot of fun. There was much sledding and sweating.
